--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a workgroup set up in my home with a couple of XP Pro machines and a Win2K machine. For some reason, when I use one of the XP Pro machines, I can't map a drive to a shared folder on the Win2K machine. It keeps prompting me for a valid username/password. I have verified that the username/pw are correct with appropriate rights on the Win2K machine, but it still does not work. I have checked the Security tab and the Permission dialog from the shared folder itself, and all appear set okay (full control, with all rights set).

In addition, if I attempt to map using credentials of an Administrator account on the Win2K machine, it works just fine. The problem appears when I try mapping using a non-admin account, such as a Power User account.

I have no idea what is happening here. Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!!

Just a quick thought, but have you set permissions from the root folder all the way down to where the folder is that you want to be accessible? If even one folder has Deny then you will be unable to access the folder that you want
