Problem with sound card

Hi,

I am not getting sound. I have attached my device manager image.

I would like to know in which side the problem is ...

Should i replace the hardware or speaker?

SigmaTel is my sound card name.

Are you sure that my hardware (sound card) is in good condition?

Some of my friends told that there might be a fault in my sound card.

It might just be that you need to re-install your sound card drivers.

also check in your Bios that onboard sound is enabled.

I did everything what you said. even i re-install windows xp. but my sound card is not producing a single piece of sound

can you help with this?

then maybe your onboard sound has died,btw are you sure its not your speakers thats the problem?

If your onboard audio chip has died then the soltion would be to buy a Pci sound card,you can pick up a Creative card quite cheap nowdays and you will realy tell the diffrence in sound quality over your old intergrated sound :)

This one would do you fine,assuming you have a spare PCI SLOT?
