Alright maybe you guys know something idiot Kodak doesnt.

I bought their Kodak C703 digital Camera with docking station. I installed the Kodak Easyshare CD that came with it, following all directions they told me. it installs but alas no camera connection.

My computer will not even register there is a camera attatched. I have my Nikon one that works fine...but not the Kodak. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired...blah. Right now I have uninstalled the cd completely. I still cannot get the camera to even register on the computer. both USB ports work fine, computer works fine...????

Have: System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Svc Pack 2
Computer: AMD Athlon(tm)XP 2200+
1.80 GHz, 512 MB of RAM

RR Cable and standard USB ports.

When I go into my Driver section I get the Kodak camera symbol with ! (Just like my icon) in yellow. Details say....
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)"

What does that mean? How do I fix it? Is it something I can fix? How do I ge my computer to transfer pics off my camera????????

Fix it and you will have my undying gratitude.

Hmm..., sounds like you have two different versions of the Kodak Easyshare software installed and the computer is getting confused between the two. Try uninstalling the driver again, but this time run a registry cleaner to get any left over bits out as well. Then reinstall and try again...

I also has the same problem. I have found two solutions around it. First, plug the camera directly into the USB cord just to make sure all works. It should. Also, you can try unplugging the dock while the camera is on it. Leave the USB cord plugged in. When it turns back on, all should work. At least for me. It took me a couple tries at these two options, but now all is well. good luck
