Hi there,

As you can see, i am newbie here. I have one problem with my Epson Stylus SX-535 printer.

I bought Epson Stylus SX-535. It seems I made a mistake buying it. That printer has too little ink cartridges. Only 7,5ml. It is enough to print 100+ page. I print 100+ page monthly. So I will need to refill or exchange the cartridges every month.

But, I have very weak eyesight. So every cartridge refill or cartridge exchange put challenge before me. Having very weak eyesight, - it isn't as simple task for me as it is for any healthy person. In addition I live in a village far from any printer service workshop. Nobody around me have informatic knowledge. And as you may alredy know, - in dealing with that task person must pay full atention to not broke the chips which are frequently mounted on ink cartridges.(These chips are so-called resetters)

Therefore, I will need to annoy someone to do cartridge refill or cartridge exchange once a month. Previously I had Konica Minolta mono laser printer PagePro 1300W. It functioned properly seven years. During theese years I needed to put toner in that printer only twice. The point is I would like to be independent as much as it is possible on anyone who will refill or exchange my cartridges, and annoy him as little as is possible.

So I would e-ven-tu-al-ly like to buy another inkjet printer which have at least 30-40ml big ink cartridges, I sent e-mail about that problem to an printer service. They said it is a pitty I didn't wrote them before I bought my Epson. They adviced me to buy an old inkjet printer which can work on cheap ink, because new printers frequently work only on original ink or on few alternative ink. Until some older types can work using wide variety of cheap ink. They said they have repaired many HPs and I can buy one of them for 15 euro, and buy a cheap ink for that HP.

I don't know how much I could trust them. Because I didn't have any customer relationship with them yet.

It is easy to find an old printer, and google how many mililiters it's ink cartridges have. But it isn't as easy to know which printer is realy reliable. Which printer lasts as longest time as is possible, and cause as little problems as is possible.

So, I would like to know your experiences with your old inkjet printers to make informed decision.

I tried to reach this forum:

http://www.printersforum.com

but it doesen't work.

Which other sites I could visit to solve my problem.

Your ansvers will be very appreciated.

You do not want to be refilling cartridges as they could end up ruining the printer from them leaking. My advice would be to find a printer that doesn't use a lot of ink and find one that has cheap ink cartridges. You may want to invest in a color laser printer. They do last longer...

I wanted to purchase color laser, but as disabled person I am chronically unemployed, and didn't have a money. I tried to have credit in one bank because I am on state benefits. But bank didn't approve it. Later I tried to convince my brother to gave me a credit through his credit card to buy a cheap color laser, but failed short in that action.

I think Epson SX-535 is type of printer that don't use a lot of ink, but it still has too small cartridge.

Inkjets are no good for large quantity printing - you really want a laser. Inkjet is good for large scale single drawing, high quality media/advertising prints, etc.

7.5ml is also tiny. The large inkjet printer where I work has 75ml and 130ml cartridges.

How can I disable ink status monitoring? I heard If I buy compatible ink for my Epson sx535wd, that some inks are without chips, and one of the solutionis in using them is to disable ink status monitoring. How can I do that on my Win 7 PC.?

And yes, I know only the original inks are qualified ones. But, as disabled, and thus chronically unemployed person I haven't money to buy Epson EOM cartridges.
