Well if you use a router, there shouldn't be much to shareing without that networkmagic stuff... For the XP machine, be sure you have the user name of the other system on it(Right Click my computer > Manage > Users > add the name/password, set so it never expires, etc...) Shareing is automatically enabled, so you should be able to just right click on a folder you want to share > Proporties > Sharing...
The printer isn't too hard. Go to the control pannel(or with ME, it might be under My Computer, still) > Printers > Find the printer, right click it > Proporties > Shareing tab > enable it. Go to your other computer, get your driver disk for the printer or find the drivers of XP online. THen go to printers > Add new printer > Network printer > find it > Add it > at this time you should be asked to install the drivers. USALLY, you can find a folder called like WinXP or something like that. Tell it you have a disk, then direct it to the folder
That SHOULD be everything. Sorry I can't do much with that networking magic. I never used it, as mentioned, so I really cant help you with it. If you simply must use it, I'm sorry to say you're on your own...
