printer problems

hello im new here and need help if it is possible.
we had a lightning strike last night . my desktop is on a battery backup.
everything seems to work fine except the printer. it shows power but when i try to print from computer it does nothing . i uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it. but it didnt help. is there a way for me to figure out the problem?

Try turning it off, unplug the USB cable. Then unplug the printer from the wall. Let it set for a minute. Plug everything back up and turn the printer back on. See if that gets it working.
