print with laptop

i really want to be able to print wirelessly from my laptop. my printer (lexmark z12, old i know) is conected to desktop which is also connected to my wireles router (bt voyager 2091) iv shared the printer on the desktop but i hav no idea how to access it on my laptop, same goes for sharing files, iv shared them on desktop but i don know how to access them on my laptop.

help will be muchly appricieted

yeh did that but dont know where to go from there :s

it searches and finds 'home' and 'ms home' if i clik on either of these it just says you need to find a valid network printer or something...
 
Share the printer on the desktop, go to the laptop, type in the name of the computer or the IP address(either //name or probably //192.168.x.x) If the printer is shared, it should show up in the window and you simply need to connect to it.
