Print Servers

I am using two print servers on my network. One of which is the Linksys Print Server w/4 port switch PSUS4 (or something like that) and the second is the Minolta Magicolor 2300DL (with print server built in). My problem is mainly concerning the Linksys PSUS4. I am going to be formatting all my computers this summer and starting over and I'd like to answer this question before I do. Sometimes, I have trouble connecting to the print server and it fixes it by unplugging and plugging it back in. What could this be? Also, if I do not use a static IP address, the computers seem to lose the print server and they cannot connect again, or is this because of my first problem. Overall, I'd like some more information on general use of print servers and recommendations. Thank you!
 
A lot of routers loose connectivity, or slow down over time. Mine has about a 24 hr period... Unplug it an plug it back in works great. I also noticed it takes less time if the router is overheating, sitting on the carpet absorbing the heat... etc
