So I currently have the setup in my sig. Today I just ordered all the stuff listed below. What kind of change in performance do you think I will see?

CPU $102: AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz

With the motherboard below you can unlock the other two cores on this processor, and even if you dont unlock them you can overclock your cpu to a stable 3.7 ~ 3.9 ghz. So for $102 you have a wicked quad core.

I think the performance diffrence will be quite big.....and you choose a very good graphics card!

Sick, I hope so. After I bought it I was kinda like, did I just pay all that for 10 more fps, lol
 
If you are into ocing that chip is excellent to do so (a lot of great reviews in several forums I belong to) and very nice motherboard. All in all you did yourself well. I would love to know how you like your G.Skill memory once the system is up and running.
 
yeah... its still kinda a slower proc. but you can OC them pretty good... just the video card alone you are going to see a massive difference.
 
Yeah, I was going to try to unlock the other two cores and then see if I cant overclock it to 3.7 ~ 3.9. Yeah, and I will let you guys know how I like the GSkill.
 
I know this is old, but I built it and have been using it since I last was on here. This computer is amazing. I love it. It blows every game I play out of the water. I was able to unlock the other two cores no problem so i have a quad core black edition for the price of a dual core. It runs stock at 3.1 ghz, and with like two drop down menus I can get it to 3.9 no problem on air. Im not keeping it there though, I have absolutely no reason to at this point. Unfortunately I just about filled up my terabyte HD.

Congratulations, you got a good chip :D

I kinda wish I got the X2 instead of the 955, but I wanted security in the other cores being 100% perfect.

Yeah thanks. I was really worried about it, but at the same time I figured even if it doesn't work I'm still getting a sick dual core with unlocked multipliers, lol. Hows your chip working out for you?

Well, I want to overclock it, but I've been having troubles with internet connection and memory, so sometimes I BSOD on the simplest of overclocks. Hopefully, when I get the problems fixed, I can actually do something with my 900$ rig !!!
