Yes PppoA settings will work for Pppoe.

Plug in the 6211 to the modem, then the wireless router into the first port of the 6211. Use a cross over cable from modem to router, and router to router.

Ok, did not know it was a modem/router.

6211 Lan port to the Wan port of the wireless router. Using a crossover cable.

I believe the Lan and Wan port will act the same when going to the other router though. No need for the switch... unless the wireless router doesnt have ports. If you need the switch for the ports, plug it into the 6211 and the wireless router into the switch.

So with that config will the 6211 or the SMC be giving out IP addresses ?

And why plug both routers into the Switch?

If you read the last post... I stated "no need for the switch".. The only reason yo would need it is if you are short of ports... Eliminate any device you can on the network...Keep it simple.

You said the 6211 was 1 port (out) and the wireless router has no ports... If thats true you need the switch. If the wireless router has enough ports don't use the switch.

OkThank you
I should be getting the SMC7004VWBR wireless router today ,

One last question is the SMC also a Modem ?
