Power usage.

I was just wondering.

If my computer only use: lets say 200W at full load.

one 250W power supply
and 600W power supply

Will the 600W power supply use more power compare to the 250 W one?

Or it makes no difference because the PC only uses 200W regardless which of the two PSU is used?

Does the # of W power supply just means it can provide up to that amount of power when needed?

yes, thats what it means. a 250W PSU can handle up to 250, and a 600w can handle up to 600w...you dont want to go over that number though, because then parts will begin to function differently (in a bad way) or even stop working all together.

If i were you, I would find a nice 430w PSU just in case of future upgrades, plus you dont want much less than 430w's anyway on any computer.

Thats what I was thinking too, but just need to have someone confirm it.
