power supply

hey ppl below is my pc which im slowly turning in to a decent gaming pc. im going to get a new GPU nd power supply first iv picked the Gigabyte GF9800GTX+ 1Gb as the card but am unsure of the power supply i got told to get a 750w thermaltake toughpower for $269 AUD but with my GFX card nd install cost thats more then i want to spend unless that really is the best thing.

Intel Core 2 duo E4600 2.4GHz
3GB DDR2 667MHz Memory
320GB Hard Disk
8500GT 512Mb DCI-E
some no-name brand 400w PSU

here are a few other PSU's i can get here :

1:

520W "Corsair" (or the hx-450w version for the same price) "Corsair" HX-520 ATX Modular Power Supply, 120mm fan, Dual PCI-E Graphics Card Connector, 4 SATA Connectors, Universal AC input 90~264V

3:
650W "Antec" NeoPower 650 ATX Ver2.2 & EPS12V Power Supply, Modular Cables, 3 x +12V Outputs, 2 x PCI-E Graphics Card Connector, SATA Connectors

these are just a few in my price range $180 to $220 AUD

any comments would be helpfull thnx

That's WAY too much for a Toughpower 750W, and if you're only planning on using a single 9800GTX+ there's really no need to get a PSU that large. There are a lot of great 500-550W units that would easily power your system that you could get for half that price. Whereabouts are you looking?
 
im in coffs harbour nd went round all the pc shops up here nd got told thats wot i need. so wot do you think are some good brands they all use altech.com for hardware any PSU's on there you can suggest
