power supply green light

recently my computer shut off on its own and when I tried to power it back up. nothing happened. no fans. no harddrive. nothing.

I opened it up to see if there was something I could do. I unpluged the motherboard from the power supply and pluged it back in and gave it another try. but still nothing.

then I noticrped that the light on the back of my power supply was blinking rather than just glowing green. when I unplug the motherboard the light glows like normal.

is this a problem with my board or the power supply?

Reconnect the supply, unplug the ac cord, and press the power button on the system like you were powering up normal. What this wil do is recycle the supply itself after discharging the capacitors inside. Once this is done replug the ac cord back in and give it a try then. If it's a good supply it will come back at that time to run normal.
