I am just looking for any potential upgrades, ive had my computer since feburary and i have been struggling playing games without big fps drops and jitter, so please just some advice on a pontential upgrade. a
current Components
-intel i5 7500 cpu
-amd radeon rx 590 gpu
-gigabyte B250M-D3H-CF (I think)
-16gb ram
-ac 230v psu (i think , thats all i could figure out)

(thanks for any replies and sorry for any grammar)

New system time to be honest. And without listing the model number of the power supply, the 590 requires a bit of power to run it efficiently.

Hi there!

Based on your setup (Intel i5-7500, 16GB RAM, GA-B250M-D3H motherboard, and Radeon RX 590), here's what you need to know about upgrades:

  • CPU Upgrade: The best processor your motherboard supports is the i7-7700K. While it's an improvement, it’s still a few generations behind current hardware and costs about $80 on eBay. At that price, it might not be the best value for the performance boost you'd get.
  • GPU Upgrade: A faster graphics card would likely be held back by your CPU, so you wouldn’t see the full benefit without upgrading other parts of your system.
  • RAM Upgrade: Adding more memory could help smooth out dips caused by memory-intensive tasks, but it wouldn’t make a noticeable difference in overall performance. Any stutters caused by your CPU or GPU would still persist.
If you're looking for a noticeable improvement, it might be time to start planning for a new build. Your current setup has served its time well, but modern hardware will give you a much better experience across the board.
