So today, there was a thunderstorm, and my mom's computer fried. I told her she needed to buy a new one, and about an hour later she gave me the printed out page of what she bought. A Dell XPS with 6GB of RAM and a Core i7. After all that bragging about having a computer that kills her $1,000 Dell she buys that. I felt owned.
Anyone else?

speaking of dell, i went over to a friends house to reformat his computer, its supposed to be simple, but no, dell makes it a pain in the ass to even reformat, apparently you need third party drivers to use a sata drive with a dell and windows xp

What model is it?
I formated my old Dell just fine when I gave it to my brother.

its an xps 600, whenever i go to format, it just states that there is no sata drive connected, and after i exit, it boots to xp off of the hard drive

I spent alot of money on my 9800gtx about 2 weeks before GT200 came out, a month later the GTX 260 costs less than my 9800gtx(and of course i didnt even buy an evga card so i couldnt step up). That and the fact that for what i paid for 4gb of the cheapest ocz gold ddr3 1333mhz(around $250) almost exactly a year ago, i could now get almost 8gb of 1600mhz corsair with better timings....
