Possible to retrive information from an external monitor?

Is it possible to retrieve information from an external monitor? If you have to connect the external monitor to a computer. Can you then find it again via the external monitor?

You can connect an external monitor to a computer, what do you mean "can you find it again via the external monitor"? Monitors don't have a way of displaying previous data if that's what you mean.

Sure. What I mean is that I lost my computer and I want to get some pictures and documents back. I was thinking that maybe I can get that information back through my external monitor.

In case my information was storeed inside the external monitor/external screen.

Your data isn't stored in a monitor, its stored on the hard drive in the computer. A monitor is just a displaying device not a storage device.

As John said, an external monitor only displays the output from the computer, there is no storage in the monitor that saves what was displayed through it.
