popup at bootup

I recently downloaded some windows upgrades and now whenever I boot up, I get a popup that says that a complete installation is not possible because certain software is unavailable and I should put the "solutions center" disc into the drive and click OK.

Problem is I do not have the disc that is referred to. I would be happy to just delete the uninstalled upgrade, but I don't know what to look for.

BTW I am using a HP s3620f slimline computer with windows vista.

Any help would be appreciated.:)

Try going to control panel>windows updates>update history. That will bring up a list of updates that can be uninstalled.

just goto to run windows key+R and type in "msconfig" goto to startup item tab and look for your suspicious software and uncheck it and restart your pc.
