Any takers? Price is (somewhat) negotiable.

This card can do high settings on pretty much every game out there except Crysis (medium, 1024x760). Only has been used for a few months and not abused. I don't ever do marathon gaming sessions or anything because I have a full-time job. Very trusty card, but I got myself a 4870 so I don't need this one anymore.

You got your 4870 already? Nice man.

How's it performing? Chipsets ok? I heard that they have problems with that and that they also overheat sometimes.



Getting a Phenom anytime soon?

I checked your thread about the 4870

Kinda lame that your 3dmark06 score is only 11700. I'm sure it will improve once you get your phenom :)

It's performing nicely, but it's choked by my 6000+. It's not a world of difference from the 9600GT that I was expecting...but once I get a better CPU, that might be different. =)

Still debating whether to get a Phenom 9950 for cheap or to wait for Deneb...

BTW, the Visiontek 4870 has two fans, and I have no problems whatsoever with heating. I moved it so that it's not blocked by my sound card anymore, and it idles at 51, maxes at 70 in Furmark, and only reaches 57 max during games.

id wait for the denebs if you have cash, they are gonna be good.

Also 51 'C idle is a big diff from 9600 GT

My 9600 GT idles at 41'C

The older one doesn't, they should offer a free heat sink/fan assembly for the people that bought the older one :(

There's no need for a video card to idle less than that. I can get it to idle at 43C if I raise the fan speed past 50%, but it's louder and pointless. These things can safely go to 90C (unlike CPUs), so reaching 70 full load under Furmark after 10 minutes is pretty outstanding. During games, it goes to 57C max.

I think my "for sale" thread just died. =/
