Please Help!!

Ok i have Alltel as my ISP. I plug in my RAZR by USB to my laptop or desktop and wherever I get a phone signal, I get the DSL speed. I have tried to share this connection and all of that so I can hook up my wireless router and have my own network so I don't have to carry around a usb cable and a cell phone. I can just turn on my laptop and connect. I can only get on the internet when I take a CAT 5 cable and plug it into the back of my router and into my laptop. I want to have a wireless connection and do file and printer sharing. PLEASE HELP!!!

This should work, but you'll need an extra ethernet cable. you'll create a loop in your router.

Plug a cable in your router's WAN or internet port then the other end will go to the first port. Then you you plug your other devices in the other ports. This will force the router to work more like a switch.

It works with my set up, but my internet's behind the router via ethernet. I'm afraid since you plug the phone into your laptop it won't broadcast or send out the internet through the ethernet on your laptop.

I need more help

Ok i have the alltel program on my desktop. I take the usb plug it in and connect. then i did what u said, i took a short CAT 5 cable and went from the internet port to user 1. then i took a cable and put it in user 2 and ran it to my desktop. and i used a create a home network wizard and it shared the alltel connection. i connected to my laptop and it only connected to the network and i had no internet connection. now i turned off the firewall and it still doesent work. please help me i have a log me in account, maybe u can use remote assistance and help me.
