OK here is the deal, my wife and I are having troubles, and this guy is trying to date my wife, he is a IT guy and is supposedly pretty good. The problem is he has gotten ahold of all our passwords and put some "spy-ware" programs on our computer one tracks all the web-sites and information we type, and another logs all the IM's that are sent, the problem is my wife dosen't believe that he did it. and he is sending Myspace Letters from my wifes and my profiles. The question is, how can I prove this, I contaced Myspace and my ISP but their help has been limited. Is there a way to see what IP address log on to my computer and where the messages were sent? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me, my marriage hangs in the balance


this is also in the general forum but since he is an IT guy I thought you all might be able to help out. and also is this hard to do, from his perspective?
 
Change your password on the myspace accounts, and do it from another computer. Boot your pc in safe mode and remove any programs that you dont recognize.
 
ok, thanks, I changed my passwords and all, but if he can access my computer at will, how can I catch him, is there a place on a computer that tracks remote logins? and if not is there a freeware program that can track intrusions?..........Thanks for your help I really need some....lol
 
even IF you traced remote connections, what are you gonna do next ?
just do what Trizoy said.
try a free program like Adaware

I am just looking for proof that this guy has been in my computer and has sent this crap, I am not going to do anything malicious if thats what you are asking, I just want to prove my innocence really
 
Ok I have realized how hard this is going to be to prove, I really appericate all your guy's help and advice, I think I can keep him out now, (I noticed that my firewalls were deleted while I was out of town) But can someone tell me how hard or easy this would be for him to do? especially since he is an IT guy?? If I knew how easy it was it might help my "case"...lol, Thanks again for all your help and advice
 
install zonealarm fire wall its free and windows defender from windows update site run regular spyware programs spybot is free. dont use programs like vnc or logmein
