Hello I'm a newbie in this Forum and computing. Please someone help me because my laptop(Windows 7) got the same IP Address about two months ago and since then, the message, that shows IP Address Conflict, has abruptly appeared more often than not. But all the same, I still have no idea what to do to solve the problem. So please any of the forum member who is way brilliant in computing help me in explicite and demystified ways!?

Either one of two things.
1. There is another pc in the home that has the same IP address as you and only one can connect at a time. Make sure all PC's are set to obtain IP address automatically. Or if for some reason one machine needs a static IP then set all pcs to a different IP address.
2. The connection between modem and router is wrong. One of my clients had this issue and found out they had the cable from the modem going into one the LAN ports instead of the WAN port. Make sure the cable from modem goes into the correct port on the router.
