Hello,
I purchased a Turtle Beach Riveria sound card from my local computer store and I am having problems playing video games. The problem is the sound that it is very distorted, I tried many things to remedy the problem from downloading the newest drivers to removing the card and placing in diffrent slot.
Here is what I have noticed while the game is in play the sound is very distorted but I noticed that when I click the "x" tab to close the window (holding the button down and not leting go) the sound is perfect. I think it has something to do with the video b/c when I do this the background freezes, could there be some kind of conflict with the video card (eVGA Geforce 5500 256)? When I play a dvd on the computer it is fine and no distortion same goes when I play a song that does not have a moving background (windows media is distorted).
Here are my specs. for my computer...
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Maxtor 200gb Hard Drive
Geil 2x512 Memory Dual Channel
ECS Motherboard K8T890-A (1.0A)
eVGA Geforce 5500 256mb video card
Turtle Beach Riveria 5.1 sound card
Logitech X-530 5.1 Surrand Sound Speakers
Microsoft XP Professional Operating System
There are 5 case fans cooling the computer case
Zalman CPU cooler with Aluminum and Copper fins
Please Help, any info, set-up, configuration, newer drivers, anything would be great. I bought two PC games (Half-Life 2 & Guild Wars) and I am not able to play these great games.
Thank you,
Albert Dea
