PLEASE HELP! how do i set up network....

Ok, how can i set up a network in my room? Here's my situation: I have my main computer out in the hall with the a wireless router,and my computer in my room runs off of the computer in the hall(from a linksys wireless card) BUT! i have another comp in my room, so is there a way to run internet from the computer in my room with the connection, to the one without, so i can have both on the internet? like a network between just two computers? (because i do not want to buy another wireless card they are too much)

BTW: Both computers have network cards installed, and they both work, but they arent being used.

Well, if i understand this correctly, you have the wireless router in the hall, and 2 computer in your room, one has a wireless card and recieves internet, and the other has no internet, but would like to have it get internet using a wired ethernet cord.

In order to network those 2 together, you need a crossover cable going from one computer to the other via the ethernet ports, im not sure about internet. I never really got the internet connection sharing utility to work, but thats how you would network those 2 together. Unless you have a long ethernet cord, then you can go directly from your router to the other computer.

yeah, ytou got it right, and no, not a long enough cable to get down the hall, but i do have a crossover cable (i think its just a regualr network cat5 cable is that right?)and its connected, and i ran the network setup wizard and it says cannot complete, error

In my experience a "regular" network cable, like what you buy at a bestbuy or whatnot, is a straight-thru. check the ends of the cables, there are 8 colored wires. a crossover cable should have one end with the following order when looked at from the bottom, from left to right. white/orange, orange, white/green, blue, white/blue, green, white/brown, brown. The other end will have this order, when looked at from the bottom from left to right. white/green, green, white/orange, blue, white/blue, orange, white/brown, brown. Take the cross-over cable and plug it into both systems. Make sure they are both on the same workgroup and have IP addresses of the same network and the same subnet mask (you will most likely have to configure the IP and subnet of the computer without internet access manually).
As for ICS, go to AnalogX.com. Last I checked he had a good ICS program.
