Hello, i was hoping someone would be able to help me.

I recently bought a HP dv5244eu Notebook which has an Express card slot. It does not have the PC card slot. I also just signed a contract for wireless internet with T-Mobile, and the internet card provided only fits into the older slots and so is incompatible with my laptop.

I have been told that there is some sort of adapter that I can plug into my laptop. Apparently the adapter has the older slot, into which i could then place my internet card. I would really appreciate if someone could direct me to a specific product that would be ideal for me. I've also heard the words PCMCIA heard around, but i'm not too sure what that means ...

Thankyou for any help!

PCMCIA is a different interface that is on newer computers, designed for the newer cards. If this computer is a newer computer, it already has wireless built-in to the motherboard.

If the card that you need is something like the Sprint cards I've seen, then it will need a PCMCIA port. However, you might be able to find an external adapter from the Express slot that would accept a PCMCIA card.

well if you can't use it they can't charge you for the service. They may have a mini pci-e card that will fit your laptop
