Petition for Newegg UK

Everyone loves the Egg (Well, nearly) , I think it would be so convenient to have a Newegg UK though, so we didn't have to resort to eBuyer all the time... Good but htey raise proces when demand is high :P All in favour of The creation of Newegg UK say "aye" Tell me if there is a technical reason why Newegg can't run a UK site :) I'll e-mail them this URL if it doesn't fail

UK wouldn't be worth the effort newegg would put into it is what their response would probably be. A good example is newegg canada, where iirc they don't even have a warehouse in canada, and ship most products from the US.

I dont think thats true, the uk market is material to a business like newegg. Suspect its just not a good use of their capital, breaking into a market like the UK is probably capital intensive. The ROI probably doesnt stack atm

Well, i think my wording was a bit backwards on that one...as in the amount of capital it would take them to enter into an established market such as the UK with ebuyer/overclockers uk/etc would take quite a large amount of time, effort, and capital. Hence it "Not being worth the effort".
 
I wouldn't be surprised to see newegg buy out a big competitor like ebuyer. That would prolly cost less and be easier than entering into that market from scratch. One way or another, they'll likely be in that market within the next 5-10 years. Give them some time. Of course they're not ignoring this region.
 
I agree with mep, but only after the economy picks up will NewEgg even consider buying ebuyer. Europe has a surprising amount of computer enthusiasts... and they know their stuff, too! Is the petition link broken for anyone else? I just get a white page.

International shipping might be more feasible in the current economic climate. And I think eBuyer would accept a large offer if Newegg were to buy them out :P

Would require newegg to set up shop in the area which will not happen for a while. The real issue if they just started shipping from the states/canada would be the horrible prices you would have to pay to get it to you.

I mean $50 to ship a computer case would destroy you ^-^

You are not sending the actual petition link, you need the one that has the name or number or whatever of the petition. It should be in the email you got from them.

It cost me over $50 to ship a sff case to canada via USPS(cheapest there is for international). Would hate to see what it would cost to ship something to the UK that size.
