So, its my first time here, but dear god I had to say something to someone!
Why is it that all over the web, with as extensive and helpful as it should be...it just seems to only be kids spouting perennial wisdom with no motivation to actually do anything themselves?
Anyway my real problem lately has been that I bought San Andreas and its been running slow. Yes, yes I have a good fast computer, that isn't at issue here.
What is at issue is that when I would search to TRY an find an answer all I find is garbage advice. People saying things to each other like "you need more RAM" or "your computer is just junk"
Now correct me if I am wrong but that isn't helpful at all to ANYONE. Its not answering a question, its just taking up space where someone might actually be able to provide a REAL answer.
Wanna know how I fixed my slow issue?
It wasn't hardware, and it wasn't a game or video card setting or any of my drivers.
San Andreas isn't constructed to run on dual core processors. So you have to set affinity of 'gta_sa.exe' in task manager by un-ticking CPU 0.
It wasn't hardware or anything else. Wanna know where I found that fix?
On the Rockstar solutions database. So If I found it why haven't others as well???
Because it took me time to look. It seems that most people dread research and they are happier with a quick fix. My fix may have taken me a little longer to find, but at least it works. And for a lot less than more RAM would have cost without fixing the real problem.
There are times when I wonder what our world will look like in a few years after the younger, impatient generations assume charge.
(I am not trying to say that everyone that is young is an idiot, there are jost a lot of them that think they know it all.)
I think of what Socrates said "I know that I am intelligent because I know that I know nothing,"
