Hi every body.
This is my problem. I want to make home network, something easy. My desk comp hes two network cards, one for enternet connection, the other to connect to laptop (dell inspiron 1100). i bought a pcmcia card for laptop, becouse my onboard card has bad connectivity. I had to play with cable all the time to have a connection.
Ok, my cable is fine becouse two computers can be connected through laptop on board card (if i play with cable). but when i try to connect through pcmcia there is no link (lights on cards) abd windows says "cable is unplugged". i tryied to reinstall drivers, to pull out my card from desk comp and put it in another slot. i think my network settings are good couse with bad card on laptop every thing works. what can be the problem????? please help me solve this one.

Try putting the pcmcia card in another slot if you have one

Does the computer show signs of detecting the card at all? What OS?

Laptop detecting the card and installs it. No problems with that. I trayid to connect laptop to my thriend's comp. it didn't work. So i assume that aftwer all there is something wrong with this card. Tomorrow i'l go to the store to check the card within other laptop. will see. You want to know the answer?

I guess that would be the problem, unless something really weid was going on with your laptop....which I doubt
