pci bus vs pci slot

Greetings everyone!!
could anyone please tell me the difference between pci bus and pci slot
(presently i think pci buses are embedded on the motherboard )

They go hand in hand...sort of. You plug things into the PCI slot, the data travels along the PCI bus to the computer's chipset. You can have "hidden" PCI slots too, where the onboard devices connected and interface through the pci bus.

Think of the slot as a wall power outlet, and the bus as the wires feeding it.
