PCI ATA 133 Raid Card

I have been thinking about buying a cheap Raid Card, so I can attach a couple over older HD’s to my current computer. I was just wondering how the performance on a card like this would affect the HD’s? The HD’s are older and not going to be used on a constant basis, so performance is not a big deal. The drives will be primarily used for extra storage and neither are over 50 GB’s. Will this put a lot of strain on my computers mobo? And can you use the raid as a secondary mean of attaching hd’s or will I have to use it as the primary boot device?

Here is the link to the card I am wanting to purchase.

It will not cause strain, they work fine and will keep up fine with any older drive, and you do not have to have it as primary boot, but you can if you want too.

Thanks for the reply Arm Pit. I think I might spend an extra 10 dollars and get a IDE expansion card, so I dont have to mess with the whole raid situation. If I do go with the raid though I'm thinking about setting up the drives as a JBOD format.

Thanks for the help, I might post some pics of the setup when I get it completed.
