PC running pretty slow help :( FREEZING

Hello well since the past couple off days my pc has been running pretty slow soon as i start to multitask like install and game open open msn is freeze/ loads up apps quit slow abit :( but i know my pc is well capable off doing this usual my processor only runs around 12% witch is nothing and the ram is around 30% in running on 32bit vista any help please ive checked for virus etc nothing i use avg pc tuneup and ive even done disk defrag i know my pc aint even put do the test with these stuff but it still kinda freeze here are the spec

Intel 2 quad core q6600 2.40ghzz x 4 with 3.25ghz
4gb ddr2 ram
nvidia geforce 9800 gt

any help will be very great-full

The one I built in my sig. I just did a couple little upgrade changes but haven't changed the sig.:D.

i when to msconfig and my processors was only set to 1 :( when i have 4 cores ive selected 4 know its running pretty fast does that make a difference should it be on 4 and ok ill try that and what spec is on yours is yours custom build or a proper make ?

Having all cores enabled is good and should speed it up. Monitor your temps to make sure it's running cool. IT's custom and I'll be updating ny signature below to add details.

Nice one mate my processes is running around higher them before know around 20% is that a good thing and ram is around 37% i still need for so ram out once i get the 64bit as its not running full i have noticed its running faster and hasn't frozen have you got all cores funning is my temp ok atm im just using the normal vista gadget to check the temp ? is that ok
