painting side of case?

I just got a case from a friend that i'm going to move all my parts too. The only thing is it has had its far use and has a scratch on one side of it. Not too bad as cases do get scratched but just going to paint over it. What kind of paint would i need to use? Doesn't need to be great job or anything just to paint over it. It is only going to be sitting under desk and i'm no great painter.

Personally id sand it down with medium sandpaper,then fine...then clean it to get rid of any dust etc...and spray it with primer and then your colour spraypaint...and for added protection from scratches Super Clear Acrylic paint.

Plasticote is good,Thats what i used to do my whole case....i didnt have to bother with a Primer though,I just got the top coat...applied it about 2 times and then put a coat Super Clear Acrylic on top,looked great and does not scratch easy.
