P4P800 network problems

I have a P4P800 based pc i am trying to get going. everything's great on it except the ethernet port. i cant get the internet to work on it. i installed the driver and xp recognizes the hardware but thats it. should i be looking into getting a pci network adapter? thanks

anyone else have this motherboard and have the ethernet working?:confused:
