Im setting up an Insightbb e-mail account on Outlook express. I like the client, easy to use, but I also want to be able to check my E-mail from Insightbbs webmail if im at a friends house.

But when i set up outlook with my insight e-mail, it loaded all my E-mail on to outloook and when i check it on the Webmail, there isnt anything there. Its like Outloook took it and kepted it, even tho its the same accout. Do you know what I am talking about?

I want it so i can check it and move it to folder, but it also moves it and does the same on the webmail online. I hope you understand what I am saying and can help me.

Thanks alot in advanced;)

Funny thing is I dont even know how to set up my outlook express. for the life of me. its really frustrating.

Can anyone show me the steps?

Thanks!:D

@Bboysoda Outlook is basically taking all the message from the server and putting them locally. So anything new in you web based email is just new (hasnt been downloaded by outlook yet).

Think of this, you download 10 messages (but use a magical feature to leave a copy on the server aswell)... Next time you download messages, it would redownload those same messages again....

@theboy: Your email account need to support Pop3 access to be able to use the program. Yahoo for example only does this with paid accounts.

well what I am not getting is when I set up the new mail account it askes me its its POP3 and its selected and then it asks for an incoming server & an outgoing server? What do I put in those little boxes?

I can do a screenshot fo you guys if need be. Thanks!

And by the way I do have a paid account with SBC yahoo just incase your curious.

There might be others that disagree with me, but I absolutely do not like Outlook Express for any reason. The other, much graver problem with the software is that it not only downloads but opens the message and any attachments as well. This is prime opportunity for viruses and various other bad thing to get on to your computer, I had to fix my sister's computer and a few others from this issue. If you are fine with this issue, that is ok, but I would strongly discourage using this software because of this security breach/risk. (Oh, and if you're wondering it bypasses any anti-virus or firewall that you have set-up as well...)

Ignorance is not an excuse. ;)

You can block any file attachment you want with OE.
By default there are already a few blocked. You can set filters, forwards... This program is great.
Like many other programs, it is great as long as you use it correctly.

thanks guys tryn to figure it out right now...its kind of a hassle to set up...not really user friendly
