Outlook 2003

Hi all,

I have just built myself a new PC (Windows 7 64 bit) and am attempting to install Office 2003. This works as my laptop is this configuration!

All programmes on PC work except for Outlook which crashes on the Configuring Outlook screen.

I have tried removing the data files, so it recreates next time it opens. I have also uninstalled/re-installed. Still the same problem.

I cant even get it open in Safe mode (outlook.exe /safe), I have also tried a few other switches including /resetnavpane.

I have disabled Microsoft Security Essentials to see if that was causing a problem. There are no add ons in Outlook (havent been able to get into it to put some in!!).

Anyone got any ideas please?

Hey Gary,

Look in Event viewer for the exact reason why outlook is shutting down on you. Might be a bad dll file or something else.

Event viewer gave me a different angle to look from. All that was needed was SP3 for Office 2003.

All working now.
 
Glad to hear its working ok now. Event viewer should always give you more detailed info why a program shut down.
