Outlook 2003 - Wireless

Hi,

We have a machine which is connected to the internet via wireless router. When I run Outlook 2003 I have to manually press send/receive for emails to come through as opposed to it automatically. I've checked the setting in send/receive to automatically download new emails yet it still doesn't. This is quite annoying cause if i forget to press it I don't receive any new emails until I do remember!!

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Try this and see if it works...my Outlook account sends and receives every 5 minutes.

to have outlook look for and retrieve new messages automatically on a schedule:

  • select tools | send/receive | send/receive settings | define send/receive groups from the menu in outlook.
  • highlight the all accounts group.
  • make sure schedule an automatic send/receive every ___ minutes. is checked under setting for group "all accounts".
    • typically, you want the same setting unchecked under when outlook is offline.
  • enter the desired interval for automatic mail retrieval.
  • click close.

Scout,

Thanks for that, but Im quite sure that's where i set it to receive every 3 minutes and yet it doesn't. I'll double check tonight.

Cheers.

Cool...hopefully it helps. If not, just Search "Outlook 2003 send and receive" and you'll see hundreds of results all across the internet. Remember...you have to pick the groups and or people that it automatically sends and receives for if I remember right.
