Orange Livebox wireless network

Hi.
I am using the livebox supplied by the orange broadband service to set up a wireless network.
I have 3 computers currently on the network, 1 wireless, 2 wired. I am in the process of trying to put another computer on, connecting wirelessly using a:
"Netgear WG311 54mbps 802.11g Wireless PCI Card" to try and connect.

The desktop computer is quite a distance from the livebox, but should still be within range. However the computer does not seem to be able to pick up the signal, is there any reason why this might be?

Take off the WEP Kep.

try it with no security, if that works, then make a short wep key like 3f3f3f3f3f

it worked for me

That will mean I will have to change the other wireless connection aswell though won't it?

You will have to re type in a new wep key yes.

try it first without a wep key to make sure it is that.
