Optical out on Mobo

I have a gigabyte mobo (GA-P35-DS3R) with an optical output on it...looking at getting some desktop monitors (Behringer MS 20) that allow optical input...just making sure this will work and wondering if there is anything special to do to make this work.

Thanks for any input/advice

Drivers and the right cable. RCA will work using the coax connector, but sometimes you get clipping if it doesn't have decent shielding.

Optical cable does not use RCA connections but uses a toslink connector.
The cable is plastic optical fiber.

I have the right cables (have my home audio system hooked up with toslink)...just wanted to make sure it would work...thanks
