I'd like to get some opinions on this border.
Such as, the text, colors, size, overall layout etc.

From the initial look they appear quite clean and clear without any visual distortions. The second one there would go as a wall paper or seen on a calendar easy enough.

I tried saving and setting it as wall paper for a look and no go. But it certainly looks like something you would see on a calendar as a scenic there.

The new or rather 2005 model of lcd here runs at 1440x900 for the widescreen view. At first I thought to replace the old 1280x1024 with a new larger screen model until just happening to run into a model seeing a taller base stand.

When simply right clicking on the photo to save as a jpg file and setting it as the background on Vista easy enough for jpg screenshots from even HL2 and anything else generally all I got was a total black screen for some reason. I was going to post how it looked as wall paper.

It would certainly make a great back drop for a desktop as well a calendar page if you don't want anything too biright for late night pc use! That would be excellent since you wouldn't see the lcd glare from the typical bright screen lcds provide.

On the wall calendar here a wide screen type photo of a light house by the ocean is the picture for May on it. A good shot like that one would be typical of another month. Both are good while the second fits the scenic type of view.

try white

Photography can be an art in itself. If you keep working with it eventually the costs will be covered once you can start submitting photos that a publisher will use. You never know until you develop a talent.
