Opening a RAR file

Does anyone know where I can go online and find a free, safe site to download software that will help me open a RAR type of zip file?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WinRAR is a paid thing, but after 60 days it does still work. You just have popups every time you open an RAR file.

7-Zip as mentioned above is also a good free option.
