Hi
My pc was connected to a home theater before. Recently I bought a 5.1 Creative P5800 speaker. I have audigy 2 ZS soundcard. When I play DVD with WinDVD, all 5 of my speakers work. But when I listen to music, only two speakers work: Left and Right.

Someone told me its normal. Coz the mp3s dont support multichannel. So only two speakers gonna work. Is it true? Just wanted to be sure. I am kinda disappointed. :(

same here man...i guess i have been using music as my test, maybe i should try a game and see if surround sound works...hmm

Ya its working now!!

Its working now. I dont remember what I did. Just make sure you select 5.1 speakers and 3D sound in your speaker properties. I dont know about other software but for Creative Volume Control click on the 2nd next button near the Default button. Select 5.1 and 3D. It should work.

i dunno if its the same for you, but this is how i did it.

go to your EAX console then click on CMSS 3D, then enable CMSS 3D surround and click on one of the two options provided.

I bought creative inspire p5800 5.1 speakers from amazon.com. I paid 67$ + shipping 15$. I am really satisfied with the speaker set. Way better than any 2.1 sound speaker.
For my creative Audigy 2 ZS card I paid like around 50$ like 1 year ago. Now I think they have better sound card for 50-60$ range or you can get something less expensive, just make sure it supports 5.1 and 3D sound.
Hope it helps.

And thank you M0ddingMan1a.
