onboard......

setup

do you know what the right setup is for that......I know one set of speakers goes into mic-in or something like that and from there on I am lost.......Do you know exactly what plugin is for rear speakers left and rear speakers right and so on?

if u have a good 7.1 system everything should have its own slot, cheaper ones do use mic as subwoofer etc, but you can configure it.

basically everything is colourcoded and is really simple to use. my p580 speakers - have 3 cables from mobo to subwoofer and all the other cables plugging into the subwoofer, eg power and aux as well as speakers.

if you are buying a 7.1 package from a good reputable dealer then you should be okay. great in fact, the cables should be supplied. they will come with drivers on a cd and an instruction manual, also your mobo will cope since it has enough ports, my old old comp only had 3, but i wasnt plannign on getting surround for it anyway.

are you planning on buying 7 seperate speakers or something? :)

kit

I was planning on getting the surround sound setup.....however it comes.....Yes my old dfi motherboard only had 3 ports also......I am moving up in the world :)

Look at the manual :)

last time I thought someone told me I had to buy a special cable?
Depends on the speakers ... if you have digital inputs only on ur speakers then you prolly will need special cables

thanks

I appreciate the comment and I agree.....I can partially hear some kind of a static sound when playing at loud volumes or when other programs are runnning :)
