Onboard Sound Issue

When my dad tried to play BF2 with my old comp there was no sound. I have done everything I can think of, its enabled in the BIOS, updated drivers, unistalled and reinstalled but no sound. I never used the onboard sound because i had an Audigy card so I dont know if it could be related..

Any suggestions as to how to fix it would be appreciated!

One thing you could try there is looking in the game's own opptions for setting up sound. It may be looking for a card where none is present and need to be reset there for the onboard to work. Otherwise you may end up simply needing to add a card in which would likely be the best move on an older system for quality.

Since you changed from a card to onboard did you uninstall the sound (card) drivers. You said the onboard was enabled in bios and you installed the driver, double check and make sure the speakers are plugged into the right port.

Everything was taken off because I reinstalled Windows. and ive also plugged it in everyport just to make sure and nothing. :(

With a clean install of everything check the device manager under sound, video, and game controllers to see if anything has a yellow mark on it. That seems to be a more common problem where drivers won't go on fully in the first attempt.
