hi
i am in the process of building my first pc, the motherboard is listed below.
my question is this, i still had a old computer upstairs i haven't used it for four years and the sound card inside it is a creative audigy 2 card can i install it in my new build and is it worth it or does the motherboard create enough sound. thanks
Asus P5Q Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

the onbored is better
Asus P6T OC Palm mobo Audio 8ch 24bit/192khz
24bit 192kHz format and 6.1
onboard is better
but i would use the soundcard justbecause not to many people have 7.1 speakers, and the soundcard would not be on your mobo making heat and such,

if you have 7.1 audio use onboard if you dont use card

besides makes your computer look more hightech

I would recommend using the on-board audio on that motherboard over the Audigy 2 unless you want the more advanced EAX processing and you won't be using Vista. You can use your 5.1 setup with either.
