OK to use PC during scans?

Hey all. While my PC is being scanned for viruses - or is being defragged - is it OK to use the PC for other reasons such as spreadsheet or word processing; and let the scanning/defragging go on in the background?

I'm never sure whether this will interfere with the scanning/defrag process.

Yeah sure it is,Im always using it while its scanning.

I usually let it scan while I'm watching a movie on the pc,Or downloading something big and ive never had any problems.

Wouldn't recommend scanning while your gaming or anything though, Might affect performance.
 
Yeah ive never heard of any issues doing stuff while scanning. It's fine so long as the scan your running doesn't say otherwise.
 
I would be cautious to use the internet though. Some of those files are probably being scanned, or going to be scanned. Internet use might effect your programs ability to give an accurate scan?
