So I got a late 07 macbook a while ago with a dead backlight and or inverter. So after waiting forever for my stupid mini dvi to dvi adapter dongle to arrive and finally getting around to working on this project, I finally plug it in to my 50" TV.

...SH*^!! Ok, so I try rebooting, checked connections, unplugged and replugged in...nothing. Except for maybe this

Considering I don't want to do my video editing in purple vision or trippy purple with moving green stuff, I spend some more time figuring out what I can do, until I make the mother load discovery...

And....

Wait for it..

Hooray!!!

I've learned that I'm now completely convinced needing an adapter to plug in another monitor is freaking retarded.

It was advertised as the original apple one, and it does say the usual 'designed by Apple in California made in China' on the cord.

Hmm, I would take it to an apple store, Its possible its the adapter and knowing apple they may just exchange it for you. hopefully its not the motherboard!

Except I got it on ebay...so I doubt they'd accept it. I'd also have to travel to the mainland in order to get to one. What a pain..I guess I'll live with it for now. It should be fine unless I bump it >_<;

Yeah many cords go like this. Not sure what the reasoning behind it is but i remember back at school on a minority of computers you would have to put the cord in this exact position for it to work otherwise you would have a very annoying green display.
