Not enough space? But there is

Hello,
Im having trouble copying a video file from my laptop to my external harddrive.

The Video file is 4.86GB, and I have 21.7GB free space on my external harddrive.

But yet I get the error....
"Error copying file or folder
Cannot cope [filename]. There is not enough free disk space.
Delete one or more files to free disk space, and then try again."

Any ideas?

nevermind found the answer. Bloody external harddrive is fat32
