No sound

Alright on my parents computer there is no sound whatsoever. The drivers are fine I did re-install the drivers just in case. It's both the front and rear panel audio. I don't know what else I can say that would help you out  but if anybody has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

might sound stupid, but have you checked whether they're muted? go to 'start>all programs>accessories>entertainment> volume control' and have a look there.

Hope this helps

You may need to take the speakers out, unplug via the AC cord (power supply) and check that any wires have not been replaced into a different port?

Where did you get the drivers from? I had a weird problem after a fresh installation of XP, I wouldn't get any sound at all... I used the drivers I got from the manufacturer's website (it was a Toshiba laptop). The drivers seemed fine, I didn't even think there's nothing up with them, but after several days of no results I installed the drivers straight from the soundcard maker's website (realtek) and installed them, and voila, sound worked.

So, what I'm getting at is, you may want to try a different set of drivers.
