no sound on youtube

hello , i have a problem with my laptop, i hope someone can offer some help.
i have an AMD athlon XP2500+ 519 mhz. its a bit old and slow but recently i havent been able to hear videos on youtube.
i can hear the sound when watching dvds or movies on VLC, Windows media, interactual but no sound on youtube.
I have followed youtubes advice on troubleshooting but to no avail.

What can i do?

any help appreciated
 
maybe your browser set the sound off, try using other browser to open youtube, or you can reinstall your browser. good luck.
