No Sound in Speakers

hello........

i recently had to wipe and reinstall my os. when i reinstalled it would not play any sound on my computer or itunes.. i would appreciate any help on this.

my operating system is windows xp and my computer is a hp compaq dx 2200 microtower.......

Do you have the audio drivers installed?

Is your Default Device set to the right output for your speakers?

Is your volume turned up?

Do you get any audio in any other applications?

i am been told by the computer that there is no audio device detected.
this happened before and i think it had something to do with PCI card and i got help on how to reinstall it. does this sound familiar to you?

i get audio if i play a cd i have sound or a music cd i have sound but not on youtube or itunes or anything through the internet.

yes volume is turned up.

Ah, ok. Check the mixer panel and make sure that you don't have any playback devices muted. It sounds like you have the Wave output muted.

Let me know if that works for you. It sounds like you do have a working audio device.
