No sound from any source

I have a Dell Studio XPS with no sound from any source. The sound card is SoundblasterX-Fi Xtreme audio.
I downloaded the updated drivers after the 2 hard drives were exchanged due to a Raid volume degrade issue. The motherboard was also replaced.
The sound was lost before any hardware was exchanged.
Cd's, online videos, itunes, etc. all produce no sound out of the speakers. The speakers work on the test mode fine. The volume control on the task bar bounces up and down when a Cd is played. But nothing comes out of the speakers.
Any suggestions?

The correct drivers are installed? Look in device manager for any entries that still need drivers. Right audio output selected?
 
Thanks for the response. I'll check about the right audio output. The sound was fine until about March of this year, then it disappeared. I don't know if it had anything to do with the hard drives constantly mirroring themselves with this Raid volume issue.
I'll check the drivers again.

All fixed. I went into the "Sound" section and set the speakers as the default.
The issue was posted in "Hardware Geeks.com", along with a 123 solution.
